Relationship or Couple's Psychotherapy
What to expect:
Psychotherapy can often help you to sort out relationship issues, whether that is done in an individual therapy setting or if you are seen with your partner in Couples Counseling.
Couples counseling may help you improve communication and problem solving in a safe and supportive environment. The goals of couples counseling are to help you work through issues that are perplexing your relationship or causing you conflict. This may take the form of learning to communicate more effectively, identifying issues or patterns that are draining the relationship, or working through the conflict in a given issue. We strive to build and maintain trust, and to develop a more satisfying and fulfilling relationship.
Couples counseling usually takes place with an initial assessment of both partners, followed by joint sessions to talk through the issues that are bringing you to therapy. Your relationship treatment plan is individualized to your presenting issues and to the goals you want to achieve. Ongoing assessments may result in further recommendations or referrals if situations requiring additional attention arise during couples therapy.
