Frequently Asked Questions
Will you accept my health insurance?
For many of our psychologically oriented services, health insurance does cover some or all of the costs. Dr. Hammon-Paulson is on a wide variety of health insurance provider panels. You may call if you have specific questions about whether your insurance covers services.
What services are covered by health insurance?
Behavioral healthcare is frequently covered by insurance (psychotherapy, biofeedback, EMDR, and other procedures). Massage therapy and Structural Integration are often not covered services, unless you have Worker’s Compensation benefits or Insurance associated with an injury or accident. Please check your healthcare policy for covered services.
What days and times are appointments scheduled?
We generally schedule Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or by arrangement. Please call us for available appointment times.
How do I schedule an appointment?
If you want to schedule an initial session, call 316-832-2340. We avoid scheduling sessions by email as session times may not be available by the time you've checked your email and gotten back to us. If the service you are scheduling for will be paid by insurance, we ask you to provide your insurance company name, member ID number, birth date, and any relevant details that may be required for us to get preauthorization from your insurance company.
Where are you located?
We are located in North Wichita, near I-135. We can email you a map with directions to our practice site if you would like. Let us know you want this when you schedule.
Do I need to fill out any paperwork before my appointment?
If you will be using insurance, there are a number of forms and consents for treatment that we have you complete prior to a session with Dr. Hammon-Paulson for psychotherapy-related services. She also uses a detailed health history to assist in assessing areas of your life that might benefit from specific interventions (stress management, nutritional assessment, etc). You may want to arrive early for your appointment to complete forms; alternately, we can email you paperwork so that you may complete them at your leisure.
How do I know if your services might benefit me? Can I schedule a consultation call?
If you are interested in a brief phone consultation to talk about any of our services, philosophy of treatment, or any other detail that you want to discuss to determine if one or more of our services might be of interest to you, call us. If we are not immediately available for a phone conversation, we will return your call as soon as possible if you leave your name and phone number on our voice message system.
Is it possible to combine bodywork sessions and psychotherapy sessions on the same day?
We often coordinate appointments so that our clients can take advantage of both massage or structural integration and also psychotherapy or other behavioral healthcare services in back to back appointments.
